Its Back

The fever is back - no no .. not dengue but the Cricket Fever.
The Champions Trophy or the Mini world cup starts tomorrow with a low key match between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh 15 kms away at PCA stadium.. And the runs will continue to flow long way till World Cup finals on 28th April at Barbados..
During the season - TV sales will rise, malls will be less crowded on week ends..offices will take a hit on efficiency while hits on cricinfo and cricbuzz grow exponentially..people will be crowded in front of Electronic shops...blogs will be flooded with cricket...everyone will be a cricket expert...some heroes will rise while some will go into oblivion...
The big cricket has also been made special by an explosive return of the God - Sachin Tendulkar...
And it will be foolish of people to yet again criticize him...He has proved what is he made of....Countless cricketers have come and gone.. they shine for a brief period and then fade away - never to return.. but god has been there 17 years..and still in the recent domestic matches in chennai, there were youngsters who retired hurt due to exhaustion while the master stroked on and on effortlessly...
May be this is going to be his last world cup so the sight me and millions of Indians would love to see and hope to see is a team in Blue overalls, a big Tricolour waving in the background with the a cup in the center throwing its shine on the moment...and God standing there with his usual childish smile - satisfied after having showered his blessings on the tournament..
Wishing Team India All the best!!!

Remember Henry Olonga??? he got sachin out fending a bouncer and made a huge fuss about the situation....
What hapned next is known to all...

This sunday, shumi silenced alonso by a neat win as if saying "let every body brickbat..ma here to win this championship and go for alonso's neck".

Sames here...if everybody thinks that you cant bunk and watch cricket series when the code delivery is arnd...i ll prove em wrong...after all "Joy is in Victory" (if "proving others wrong" happens on the way, then let it be ;) ) hahaha....m cruel

I think, SACHIN shud read my comment. he may find enuf of motivation here to "prove others wrong" and say, "lo finally i hv won a world cup for india. njoy Indians"

i believe that ... when I read those comments but find it hard to follow...

one reasons why I appreciate Sachin so much because he never criticises his critics in public just that his critics become more and more shameless in arguing his exception as the norm of cricketing world!!

I am still confident that Sachin will once thrash Murali big time(big hopes??.. no way he will)...

@rompy: that's the spirit dude!!!
we have bunked classes n times to watch sachin bat... yeh code delievery cheej hi kya hai....
just pray that he does that.. but hello.. pray to whom?? he is himself the god...

@KT: tere muh mein ghee shakaar...
oye hoye.. cant wait to see sachin charging mcgrath (we saw the trailor after mcgrath had hit him on head) and taking murali to the cleaners... boy i will leave everything to rush to watch if that is happening..

1 more incident to add to rompyz..
a few days ago sreesanth, while bowling to sachin in a domestic match, came down the wicket and gave sachin a long hard look in the eyes... the next ball went sailing over the midwicket boundary... and sachin said "dont ever give that kinda look to me boy..".. hahaha.. mere mortals challenging the god
(btw sreesanth, reportedly also took pangas with sehwag and bhajji)

Bhai mujhe toh nahi lagta ki this is gonna be Masters last world cup.. I think he has plenty of cricket left in him and everybody can see that.. The way he has come back is 2 good yaar..
So I personally feel he should play atleast one more after this and equal the record of Javed Miandad...

Kyun Sid.. Kya bolta hai tu.

Aah, that's one thing I am going to miss here. Following match at cricinfo is just not the same as watching it on TV with friends. And shouting for every four, six, and wicket...

I think Sachin will retire after this WC. Given his form currently, this might again be his WC, at least hope so. And if we win, aap ke muh ghee shakkar. ;)

@bhaiya yukthesh.. mera bas chale to main kabhi retire hi na hone dun sachin ko.. but fer bhi jahan tak WC ki baat hai.. i guess it will be his last!!! 4 years is a hell lot of time..

@fleiger: yes it certainly better on TV...
but the cricbuzz is no less... getting frustrated when the page is not refreshed.. or the joy when the OUT! comes written in capital and bold... (ofcourse when india is bowling)
those things havetheir own excitement.. :)

Hmm... for that you need a wingful of people peeking over the cubicle walls asking for score :)

hahaha.... u sure do..Mysore was a perfect place for that!!!

I know... I will miss that most.

Hmmm I guess I am very late here.. Nothing to write about now. :(
people peeking over the cubicle walls asking for score Yeah, nothing as compared to watching live or on tv but it has it's own fun & excitement (for those unlucky ones who are stuck in office).

This would be Sachin's last World Cup. Yes, 4 yrs is a very long period.
